General information

People love Northern shrimp for its colour, texture, size and taste. Soft and delicate, it is much more flavourful than warm water species.
Northern shrimp is found in the cold and deep waters of the Gulf of Saint Lawrence and is one of the main species harvested in Quebec.

Since 2008, shrimp fishing in Quebec waters has been certified and responsibly managed by the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC). This certification allows the Northern shrimp industry to take advantage of the world-recognized blue MSC ecolabel.
